im munro (pictured on the left, surprise, surprise!), i was born and raised in north london. i’ve wanted to work in advertising for a very long time and it’s safe to say im very passionate about my work. i’ve got a very strong interest in languages and semantics and that has put me comfortably in the position of a copywriter but that’s not to say i don’t have an eye for good design; i was raised by a graphic designer after all. i’ve been learning spanish since the age of 8 and im very confident in my abilities with the language now, but i wouldn’t say im fluent just yet, i also havent had the opportunity to go to spain since i got my spanish a level which im actually quite annoyed at... aside from that i’ve been learning portuguese and japanese, and i know a bit of french, mandarin and german from learning a bit in school (very little of mandarin and german). im actually very vocal about how much i dislike the english language, and i started presentation society at uni where ‘why i hate the english language’ was one of the first presentations that i gave. and now for a bunch of random facts. definitely not just to pad out this massive paragraph to make it look even more overwhelming. when i was very young i did gymnastics and in 2013 at age 8 i went to nationals in birmingham representing london, having placed at regionals, where i came 53rd in the uk (london were 2nd overall, no thanks to me). i like to think that if i never stopped i could have made it to the olympics. as of writing this i have a 1033 day streak in the new york times’ wordle, but it’s probably gone up by a lot since then so do feel free to ask what im at now. i’ve played the cornet since year 3, and made my way up to grade 5 before i decided i didnt want to go through the stress of grades anymore. i continued playing in concert bands, with which i played at the royal albert hall in 2015, and in 2022 i was one of the founding members of London Youth Concert Band who have gone on to win gold several times at the national youth concert band festival. i was the very first recipient of the bands ‘player of the year award’. i love typography and have been working very hard on a number of fonts of my own. my first, called spire, was one that i found unfinished and finished it myself, but im very excited about how my current project called morganite is looking. my favourite music artist is liniker, a brazilian artist who is the most grammy-awarded transgender artist in history and i was very lucky to be able to see her live in brixton in summer of 2025. i don’t really have a favourite colour because i like way too many, but i think i do have more particular favourite colour combinations rather than individual colours, but even then i don’t think i could pick just one favourite. at the very least i know it’s not orange (one of my other presentations from that society was ‘orange should not be part of the big 6 colours’). my favourite 3 films are, in no particular order: i saw the tv glow, everything everywhere all at once, and the phoenician scheme. they’re all very recent but all three of them, i saw in cinemas and was like “wow i could write an essay about this”. for the phoenician scheme i did in fact start to write an essay about it but i have yet to finish it... no i do not have a letterboxd account and i do not think it would be a good idea for me to get one. anyway i said previously but i was raised by a graphic designer, which is something i’ve found im very privileged to be able to say because at uni i always heard people’s parents being disapproving of their creative studies, that they were the black sheep of the family but for me it’s the oppsite; my mum is a graphic designer who worked in editorial magazines, my dad was a magazine production manager who is now in fashion and it’s my older brother who’s the outlier: he’s currently doing a physics phd and quite frankly we really don’t know where he got that from. if you took the time to actually read this i commend you greatly, and i’d like to offer you a codeword of ‘ace’. if you bring this up at any point that we meet in person i’ll have a lovely packet of haribos as your prize and if we’re talking over the phone i’ll... just be very happy i suppose. anyway, congratulations again for making it this far. after all, this massive body of text was specifically designed to be as difficult to read as possible.
